Media Labs are research and development driven. MIT in Boston has a world famous one and several leading universities operate Media Labs to try understand the Terms, Technology, Transactions and Techniques involved in harnessing the power of the Internet in business (e)commerce.

What makes a Media Lab different is that the experience in running the organization is the learning cycle and the results of various approaches, applications and appearances  of user interface design in web site navigation builds a body of knowledge that can be applied to subsequent web site architecture and design development tasks.
